WHERE IT STARTED
Ranfery Arreola-Vazquez spent over two decades on rooftops across Louisville. He learned the trade the hard way — through long days, hard weather, and a relentless commitment to getting it right. Over those years he built something that can't be taught: a deep, firsthand understanding of what Louisville homes need and what Louisville homeowners deserve.
After years of mastering his craft, Ranfery made a decision. He was done working for someone else's vision. He had the experience, the work ethic, and the values to build something of his own — something rooted in this community and built to last.
In 2023, Shielded Construction was born.

It didn't take long for the family to come together around Ranfery's vision. His stepson Miguel Pena — who had started roofing as a teenager before stepping away to focus on school — came back to the industry with a clear purpose: help build the company Ranfery had always believed was possible.
Miguel brought energy, client relationships, and a relentless commitment to doing right by people. Together, Ranfery and Miguel became the foundation of everything Shielded stands for.
Shielded is still young, but the foundation is solid. Every job they complete, every Louisville homeowner they protect, every neighborhood they serve — it all adds up to something bigger than any single roof.
